Green-Wood Cemetery: Trolley Tour
Wednesday, April 17

TVHS is excited to partner with Green-Wood Cemetery for our first field trip of Spring!

Green-Wood is a living cemetery that brings people closer to the world as it is and was, by memorializing the dead and bringing to life the art, history, and natural beauty of New York City.

Together we will explore Battle Hill: the historic grounds of the Battle of Long Island / Battle of Brooklyn from 1776.
We'll hop on & off the trolley around the 478 spectacular acres of hills, valleys, glacial ponds, and paths, throughout which exists one of the largest outdoor collections of nineteenth- and twentieth-century statuary and mausoleums.

A National Historic Landmark, Green-Wood is a gem of historical, artistic, cultural, environmental, and architectural significance. Led by a professional tour guide, we will spend approximately two hours learning about the natural beauty and permanent residents throughout the cemetery.

Charter bus transportation is provided between the historical society and the cemetery. Snacks and drinks are provided on the bus. Guests are welcome to bring your own picnic lunch and we will have time at the end of the trip to eat in the park before returning home.
