Subsistence to Enterprise to Leisure

This evening's program will present a series of little seen artifacts and photographs from the collection of the Three Village Historical Society.  The items will provide a look at everyday life from the 17th century through the early 20th century. The discussion will focus on life along the shore in the Three Village Area including: Setauket Harbor, the Long Island Sound Beach, West Meadow Beach and Stony Brook Harbor.   

Free and open to the public.

Speakers

Frank Turano, Ph.D., is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University. He is on the Three Village Historical Society's Board of Trustees.

Karen Martin is archivist for the Three Village Historical Society’s archival collection. The collection includes documents, photographs, and artifacts from the 17th century through the present. The collection is available to researchers by appointment, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
