Tea with a Spot of History : A Path to Preservation : The Connetquot River Story

March 6 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Connetqout River State Park is among the largest state parks on Long Island.  The path of this river from private hunting preserve to state protection was a circuitous and convoluted route.  Many people and organizations were involved.  This program will trace the history of the park from European settlement to the present time.  It will answer questions like: Who was Eliphelet Snedecor?  Where was Jackson’s Mills?  What was the connection between the Southside Sports men’s Club and the Connetquot River Club?
